Allison Kara Reyes, 2003-2004 Reina de la Feria de las Flores
Allison, the daughter of Fernando and Norma Reyes, is a Sophomore at Saint Mary’s Hall College Preparatory. She has actively participated in many school-sponsored activities such as dance performances, plays, sports, the arts, and community services. She has been involved in her school’s Dance Program for 10 years and in every school production since her start at Saint Mary’s Hall. She has also danced with the Ft. Worth/ Dallas Ballet and the Texas Ballet Concerto production of “The Nutcracker” for several years.
Allison attended the Checceti Dance seminar at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, performed with the Alamotion troupe at the Arneson River Theater and attended both Camp Broadway, and the Rockette Experience in New York.
Other interests have included photography, school sports and the Children’s Choir, which recorded the school’s first CD, entitled The Rhythm Of Life.
In the community, she worked with the Humane Society, the Ronald McDonald House, and Elf Louis and the Junior Red Cross. She enjoys traveling and has visited 28 states including Alaska and Hawaii. Her travels include visits to Great Britain, Italy, France, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands and Japan, living with a Japanese family.
Allison was crowned Spring Queen for the International Black and White Ball and represented the United States at the Black and White Ball in Saltillo, Mexico.
Allison, and her parents, raised a record-breaking $52,000 for the LULAC Council No. 2 that will be used primarily for scholarships dedicated immediately to first-time parents and to their child when they graduate from high school.
