JAZ SPRING MUCKLEROY Jaz Spring Muckleroy is a 18 year old senior at Ronald Reagan High School. She is the daughter of Kim Carmack Muckleroy, and the granddaughter Joe and Mary Carmack and Robert and Betty Jean Martinez-Dobbins Her sister, Bree Muckleroy was the SA Woman's Club Fiesta Teen Queen for 2007. She is also the great granddaughter of the legendary Max Martinez, who exerted a powerful and positive influence on her life. She is very excited to be Reina de la Feria de las Flores for 2010. She is looking forward to the opportunity work with the LULAC Rey Feo Parent/Child Scholarship Program to help as many students as possible achieve their dream of a higher education, in keeping with the philosophy on life passed on by her great-grandfather, borrowed from Luke 12:48 "And from everyone who has Jaz began her education at St. Mary's Hall. She entered the Montessori program at age 3 and continued through 7th grade. While enjoying academic achievement she developed a love for dance. Through her classical ballet training she was selected to perform at the Majestic Theater in the Nutcracker Ballet with the nationally recognized Ft Worth/Dallas Ballet Company. In 8th grade she discovered her athletic talent and started cheerleading. She pursued her goal and has been a member of the highly competitive Ronald Reagan Cheerleading squad for 4 years. She was one of four sophomores selected to participate on the Varsity Competition squad. She is an All American Cheerleader and was nominated to be on the NCA staff. Last year her squad competed and won the Varsity Level NCA National Championship Title. They will be defending that title again this year. Jaz has been recognized for having an "All A average" at Reagan High and works diligently for academic success. She is taking a college credit courses this year and will graduate in January so she will be able to fulfill her obligations as Reina del la Feria de las Flores. Jaz participated in the Ready, Set, Teach program designed to allow high school upper classmen to mentor and assist elementary school children. She is in the process of selecting and applying to multiple Universities and would like to pursue a degree in Business Administration. Fiesta is a special event for San Antonio and Jaz has enjoyed being a part of the festivities. She has been a participant of the Woman's Club Coronation since 1998 and a member of the Ingénues Round Table where she has held leadership offices. The Ingénues participate in community service actives as well as fiesta events like the River Parade and Pilgrimage Walk for the Daughters of the Republic.
